Red Screen — A Pure Red Canvas for Testing and Low-Light Work

A full-screen, pure #FF0000 display. Spot missing red subpixels, evaluate color uniformity and banding, or use red light to keep your night vision intact before stargazing or working in a darkroom.

How it works

  1. Pick a color

Scroll, use the arrow keys, or press W, B, R, G, or U. The whole page follows along without reloading.

  2. Go full screen

Double-click a swatch or press Enter. A pure field of color fills your entire display.

  3. Press Esc to leave

Exit full screen and you land back on this page, exactly where you left it.

Questions, answered

Can a red screen help with night vision?

Red light is less disruptive to dark adaptation. Keep the display brightness as low as you comfortably can, and avoid looking at brighter areas.

What can I check with it?

Missing red subpixels, color and brightness uniformity, and banding in gradients. It also works as a neutral reference before editing photos or video.

How do I enter and exit full screen?

Double-click the red swatch or press Enter to go full screen. Press Esc to exit.
